Kinship Care

Kinship Care is a program that provides assistance to relatives caring for children, on a temporary or long term basis (such as an adult brother or sister, a first cousin, a nephew or niece, an uncle or aunt, or a grandparent, among others).  This program provides a monthly cash payment to qualified relatives as funding is available.

A family cannot receive kinship care benefits if the child they are caring for receives SSI for their own disability.

To apply for kinship care or to determine if you are eligible, call the Oconto County Department of Health and Human Services at (920) 834-7000.
