Wisconsin Property Owners can receive a First Dollar Credit as a reduction on the property tax bill. Every parcel containing real property improvements qualifies for the First Dollar Credit. The credit automatically applies to all qualifying properties so property owners do not have to apply for this credit. The credit provides tax reductions to most owners of property located in Wisconsin. Although it is counted by the state as "state support" for education, like the school levy credit, the first dollar credit provides no direct aid to school districts.
